Ten on Tuesday

1. What do you do for a living?
Technically, I 'm a full time daughter - thanks for spoiling me Mom and Dad ;)
I'm also a full time student, with part time jobs as After-Care teacher/Teacher's Aide in a mixed-age preschool classroom, a Group Fitness (Aerobics) Instructor and a freelancing babysitter. I spend most hours working at the preschool, and I love it.
This is my final year at UMD and then I will hopefully be able to answer this question with "Teach." As in, real life kick-ass Elementary School Teacher. Heck yeah.
2. What’s your favorite thing about your job?
The kids, of course. I love that they can be crying throwing a temper tantrum because you made them clean up their mess one minute, but then run to you with their little arms wide open telling you "I dove you Ms. Alensis" the next.  Their pure innocence makes them the most loving little beings in the world.  I also love the way they say whatever comes to their minds. I've never met anyone more honest than a four year old.
The proximity to my apartment is quite nice too. It's wonderful that the school is on campus, so I don't even have to drive!
Additionally, without this job I don't know what I would blog about half the time.  This two week time period where I am away from the CYC has left me feeling unfunny, wordless, and pretty much depressed.  ... Unemployment is bad for my blogging.
3. What’s your least favorite thing about your job?
Boogies.
4. If you weren’t a ____________, what would you be?
I've always said if I didn't so passionately want to be a teacher I would go on to law school.
Or be a Real Housewife of New Jersey. Either or.
5. What is something that you would love to get paid for that you think no one would ever pay you for?
I used to think working out - but then I got a job as a fitness instructor.
Also, professional beach-goer would be nice. If I could get paid for every hour sat on the sand I would be one happy girl.
6. If you could have any job for exactly one day, what would it be?
I'd be the Governor of New Jersey and change some of the legislation regarding Education just in time for me to get a real job!
7. If you had to do manual labor, what would you do?
Are you kidding? I do manual labor all the time ... some of those 4 year olds are the size of 6 year olds! They're heavy man! Have you ever played "Tag" through a playground for an hour straight? Or pushed 5 year olds on a tire swing? Holy moly sometimes I go home sore!
8. What is something you were forced to learn in high school that was supposed to be super important, but you never actually use?
How about Algebra 2 in it's entirety?
9. Who was your favorite boss?  Why?
I don't know if she is technically my "boss" but the woman who has hired me to babysit/nanny her children since I was 16 is the sweetest woman alive. She used to be my neighbor and now that she has moved I miss her as much as I miss the kids!
10. Where would you rather work: Dunder Mifflin Paper Company (The Office), Wernham Hogg Paper Company (The Office, UK), or Initech (Office Space)?
I've never seen The Office, UK so I really have no say in that.  I think Initech would be absolutely miserable, even more miserable than waitressing at a Fridays, so that leaves Dunder Mifflin Paper Company - hopefully Michael could give me a good laugh.
